Shooter’s disturbing letter to his family before Trump assassination attempt

Suspected gunman Cole Tomas Allen tried to enter the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with weapons but was arrested. Now, it’s been revealed that he sent his family a note before the apparent assassination attempt on President Trump.

31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen arrived in Washington on Friday with what appeared to be one goal: To break through security at the Washington Hilton during the Whtuie House Correspondents’ Dinner and kill several members of the Trump Administration.

Officials such as President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Second Lady Usha Vance, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth were all in attendance, among many more.

Allen rushed through security before engaging in gunfire. One Secret Service Agent was shot but survived. Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested and is expected to be charged on Monday.

Per the U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro, the suspect will be charged with two counts of using a firearm during a crime of violence and a second crime of assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.

Donald Trump spoke to the press shortly after the tumultuous incident. He said his first impression was that the suspect “was a lone wolf whack job.” Acting U.S Attorney General Todd Blanche claimed the man had checked into the same hotel where the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was held “in the last day or two.”

Now, new horrifying details about the suspected gunman have come to light. Per NBC News, shortly before the attack, Cole Tomas Allen sent his family a note where he apologized to both his parents, colleagues, as well as students and bystanders for the crimes he was about to commit.

Moreover, according to a transcript of Allen’s writing, received by NBC News from a senior administration official, the suspect stated, “I don’t expect forgiveness. Again, my sincere apologies.”

When the suspect’s brother received the note, he immediately contacted the New London Police Department in Connecticut, the senior administration official told NBC.

Also, following the shooting, Cole Tomas Allen’s sister told the Secret Service and Montgomery County Police that her brother had a tendency to make radical statements. He had previously referred to a plan to do “something” to fix what he believed was wrong in today’s world.
