Princess Charlotte turned 11 years old last week. As tradition dictates, the Royal Family issued a new picture of the birthday girl on the big day, along with clips of the entire family. But while Charlotte is living her best life, fears for her future simmer within her family.

Princess Charlotte celebrated her 11th birthday on Saturday, May 2. As tradition dictates, the Royal Family released a new photo of the princess, who is behind her brother, Prince George, in the line of succession.

Further, Prince William and Kate Middleton also shared video footage of their daughter, thanking the public for their birthday greetings. Charlotte was seen playing with the family dogs, going on a boat ride, writing in the sand, and bowling a cricket ball.

Speaking with Express, body language expert Judi James said Charlotte seems to enjoy a very “fun” childhood, similar to the one her mother, Kate Middleton, had.

“Charlotte has been born into royal life, but this video shows that her sense of freedom and her options and choices are potentially limitless. She’s not being shoe-horned into formal clothing or behaviour,” James said.

“In these clips Charlotte seems to be shown enjoying much the same childhood as her mother: fun, sporty and in the hub of a loving family.”

The body language expert continued, “There’s no sense from her relaxed and confident-looking body language and smile that she’s being asked to perform awkwardly for the camera here, but there are signs of a girl with leadership potential who knows her own mind and who is being given the freedom to express that.”

New Princess Charlotte footage sparks family fears

However, while the video footage left many royal fans happy, there are concerns within the Royal Family for Princess Charlotte’s future.

According to a Woman’s Day source, both Prince William and Kate Middleton are concerned about the amount of online interest Princess Charlotte is attracting.

Sources said the couple has been “taken aback” by the interest in her daughter’s birthday, which has been somewhat obsessive

“William and Kate are genuinely uncomfortable about ‘Charlotte mania’ and the huge following she’s getting,” they said. “But it may be too late to stop it.”

“Charlotte’s doing everything [Kate and William] asked her to be kind, gracious and well-behaved, to absolute perfection – and it’s working,” the source continued. “She’s not going to let her folks start ‘hiding her away’, but Kate’s worried about the enormous pressure she’s taking on – she’s not even a teenager yet!”
