Victoria Jones, the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones, was found unresponsive early on New Year’s Day in a room at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco after emergency responders were called to the scene. Paramedics responded to a call at the hotel’s address at around 2:52 am.

Emergency personnel and bystanders performed CPR, but they couldn’t save her life. Victoria’s family shared a brief statement after the announcement: “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”

In the months and years before her death, Victoria faced some legal and personal struggles. Court records show she was arrested multiple times, including on drug-related charges. In 2023, her father even sought a temporary conservatorship to protect her, though that arrangement was later terminated.

Her father, Tommy Lee Jones, is a well-known Oscar-winning actor, famous for films like The Fugitive and Men in Black. He also has a son, Austin Jones, with his ex-wife Kimberlea Cloughley.

The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has now confirmed that her death was caused by the “toxic effects of cocaine.” Her death was officially ruled an accident.

In dispatch audio obtained by People Magazine, the call for the incident was classified as a “code 3 for the overdose, color change.” Per Cleveland Clinic, in overdose cases, “color change” refers to cyanosis. That is low oxygen levels in the blood, often linked to heart or lung issues which causes a blue or purple discoloration of skin, lips, and nails.

This tragic news has touched many worldwide. Her family’s request for privacy is being widely supported. Rest in peace, Victoria.
