The cashier came running.

Confused, the man insisted he’d done nothing wrong.

The cashier then explained quietly that the man had been coming into the store for weeks, acting erratically and sometimes following customers. Staff had been monitoring him for safety reasons.

When officers arrived, they handled the situation calmly, offering the man help through a community mental health program rather than escalating things.

Afterward, the cashier walked her home, making sure she was safe.

Before leaving, he simply said, “We try our best to keep everyone safe.”
