A helicopter accident in Rio de Janeiro killed Oliver Tree, Gaspar “Gaspi” Prim, and others. Videos recorded just before the accident show what the famous singer’s final days looked like.

Two helicopters reportedly collided mid-air and then crashed to the ground in a fatal accident on June 14. The crash claimed the lives of all six people on board. Tree, who achieved fame with hit songs including” Life Goes On” and “Miss You,” was among them.

Images from the scene showed wreckage scattered across the area as emergency crews responded. Aircraft debris and vehicles on the ground were seen engulfed in flames while investigators worked to determine what caused the collision.

More than 20 cars caught fire after the helicopters crashed, according to CNN. Local police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing. The local Fire Department, CET (Traffic Engineering Company), Comlurb, and teams from the 31st BPM (Recreio dos Bandeirantes) have been working to isolate the area.

“During the Initial Action, qualified and accredited professionals apply specific techniques for data collection and confirmation, preservation of evidence, initial verification of damage caused to or by the aircraft, and gathering other information necessary for the investigation.”

Oliver Tree’s final days

In the days leading up to the crash, Tree documented his time in Brazil on social media. On Tuesday, he shared a video alongside Brazilian creator Akihito in which the pair compared dance moves. Tree described the moment as “absolute cinema.”

Another video posted Saturday showed him spending time with YouTube creator Iae Break, according to UNILAD. The pair were seen playing soccer, cooking together, and posing with a replica FIFA World Cup trophy.

In a separate post, Tree appeared singing and dancing with creator Lucas Vinícius. He captioned the clip: “Brazilian rock is a million times better than American rock.”

Following the tragedy, Vinícius paid tribute to Tree, describing their “brief encounter” as a lesson in what it means to “be intense and respect our inherent desire to connect without constraints.”

He added: “The comfort will be knowing that I, and anyone fortunate enough to have our paths intertwined with yours, inevitably carry with us and preserve a part of a free and enviable spirit that was put to rest far too soon.”
