At first, everything seemed full of hope. A grateful post, a baby finally home, and a family thanking the world for prayers.
But just weeks later, that hope turned into heartbreak no one was prepared for.
Cori Broadus, daughter of rapper Snoop Dogg, is mourning the tragic loss of her infant daughter, Codi.
Born prematurely in February 2025, little Codi passed away just 10 months later.
“Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” Cori shared, posting a black-and-white photo of herself cradling her newborn in a hospital room. The post was simple, raw, and impossible to read without pausing. Later, she added another update, admitting how unreal everything felt: “20 days later?! dawg im sick.” The shock was palpable — sadness mixed with disbelief that everything had changed so quickly.
Friends, family, and supporters flooded her page with messages of love and prayers. Monica Denise reposted the image with the message, “We are covering you and nephew with love and prayers daily… We love you.” In the midst of mourning, Cori also shared a mirror selfie with the caption, “Damn church,” a quiet reminder that life keeps moving even when grief refuses to.
Codi’s journey had been difficult from the start.
Born prematurely in February 2025 at just six months, she spent 10 long months in the NICU. Cori had shared moments of joy, like the day she finally brought her daughter home. “She’s home. 🤍” she wrote, snuggling her baby and expressing her gratitude for the outpouring of support: “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”
Cori openly shared the emotional toll of the early arrival and her own feelings of guilt. “I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed. But no matter what God always shows me that He got me!” she wrote. “Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s the best!! Thank You God for getting me this far.”
Her pregnancy had been complicated. Cori was diagnosed with HELLP Syndrome, a serious condition affecting the liver and blood system, and her pre-existing lupus made the pregnancy high-risk. Yet, her love and determination never wavered.
Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also mourned their daughter on social media. Posting a photo of himself holding Codi, he wrote: “I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you. My baby.”
Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Broadus, shared a family photo on Saturday night, just hours after Cori announced the heartbreaking loss of her daughter online.
The image showed Snoop with his three adult children—Cori, 26, Corde, 31, and Cordell, 28—whom he shares with his wife Shante. He also has another son, Julian, 27, from a previous relationship with Laurie Helmond.
In the photo, Corde and Cordell, both wearing matching white tank tops, stood on either side of their father, who wore a flannel shirt. Cori stood in front, smiling faintly in a grey cardigan, while Corde also grinned. Snoop and Cordell remained more serious, creating a quiet, reflective moment. Snoop Dogg kept his caption simple, sharing only a pink heart and praying hands emoji.
No cause of death has been publicly shared, and the family has not released further details.
