Chuck Norris, the famed martial artist and action movie star who became a global icon through films like Way of the Dragon and Missing in Action, has died following a medical emergency in Hawaii earlier this week. He was 86.
His family confirmed the news in a statement posted to Norris’ Instagram account.
“While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace,” the statement read.
Norris rose to fame as a martial arts champion before transitioning to Hollywood, where his tough-guy persona and memorable roles made him a cultural phenomenon.
