Lee Brice’s comment at TPUSA’s All American halftime show

For the 2026 Super Bowl, Turning Point USA announced its own alternative to the highly anticipated halftime show featuring Bad Bunny.

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) is a U.S. nonprofit founded in 2012 by late conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He led TPUSA from its founding until September 10, 2025, when he was assassinated by a gunshot while speaking at a university event in Utah.

After his death, TPUSA’s board appointed his widow, Erika Kirk, as CEO and chair of the organization.

The line-up for the All-American Halftime Show from Turning Point USA featured Kid Rock as the main act. The singer is known for mixing rock, rap, and country sounds. Some of his best-known songs include “All Summer Long,” “Bawitdaba,” and “Cowboy.”

Brantley Gilbert was one of the acts as well, he is a country-rock artist with hits like “Bottoms Up,” “Country Must Be Country Wide,” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.” He’s a major touring act with multiple No. 1 country songs and award recognition.

Gabby Barrett was the youngest artist in the line up for the alternative to the Super Bowl halftime show, Barrett broke out after American Idol and went multi-platinum with songs like “I Hope” and “The Good Ones.” She’s become one of the biggest country-pop crossover artists of the 2020s.

Performing on the night was also, Lee Brice is known for radio hits like “I Don’t Dance,” “Rumor,” and “One of Them Girls.” He’s a GRAMMY-nominated country singer with multiple chart-topping singles.

Brice made a comment to the crowd about Charlie Kirk, saying, “Charlie gave people microphones so they could say what’s on their minds. This is what’s on mind,” before launching into “It Ain’t Easy Being Country In This Country Nowadays.”

In the song, the lyrics spoke of how it is tough being ‘country’ in the United States right now. He sang in the song that doesn’t want to think it’s okay for a little boy to dress like a little girl. The lyrics also said “I’m some right wing devil because I was Jesus raised….because I have my morals and a small-town point of view.”
