Heartbreaking update in search for missing mom who never arrived to pick up her children

Authorities have issued a tragic update in the search for 35-year-old mother Amanda Rodgers, reported missing after failing to arrive to pick up her children.

Rodgers was declared missing on January 31 by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, several days after she disappeared from Eldon, Missouri on January 26.

Authorities said Rodgers left the Eldon area to pick up her children in Camdenton, but never arrived. The Camden County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in its advisory that Rodgers drove a 2003 tan Chevrolet Malibu.

The almost week-long search has now come to a heartbreaking conclusion, with authorities issuing a definitive update.

The Miller County Missouri Coroner’s Office announced on Monday, February 2 that they had responded to a motor vehicle collision in the early hours of the morning on Highway 54, close by Howser Road, Western Miller County.

Their investigation led to the discovery of Rodgers’ 2003 Chevrolet Malibu.

The coroner’s office revealed that the body of 35-year-old Rodgers had been found in the vehicle, which had been obstructed by a tree.

“Ms. Rodgers’ vehicle was located off the roadway and concealed by a fallen tree, making it difficult to observe from the roadway,” the coroner’s office stated.

“The vehicle was discovered by a Miller County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was actively searching the area.”

In their report, the coroner also noted that neither foul play nor suspicious circumstances are suspected in the case. Rather, it’s believed at this time that Rodgers’ death likely came as the result of an accidental motor vehicle crash.

“Out of respect for the family, no further details will be released at this time,” the coroner’s statement read.

It concluded: “The Miller County Coroner’s Office extends its deepest condolences to Ms. Rodgers’ family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
